On Sunday, October 4th, at 4:00 PM, Advent will celebrate its 15th annual "Blessing of the Animals"--a special outdoor service of thanksgiving and prayer for the living treasures of God's good creation.  All animals and their human companions are invited! Bring lawn chairs or a blanket.  
  
Because there is a need for cat and dog food assistance at the local LSS food pantries, those attending the Blessing of the Animals are asked to bring a small bag or can of cat or dog food.  Members of the congregation are encouraged to make a similar donation.  We did this last year, and it was greatly appreciated by the customers of the food pantry.  Please watch for the display in the Narthex.
