Some Updates for those going on the trip

Our trip of a lifetime is coming up soon!

Our 12 day trip to Italy and the Lands of Luther is becoming a reality as we are only 122 days away from leaving on a jet plane and going to fabulous places like Rome, Florence, Venice, Munich, Augsburg, Eisenach, Erfurt, Eisleben, Leipzig, Wittenberg, and Berlin.

What a way to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation! Not only did the Reformation change Christendom, it changed the secular world too. This will truly be a trip that promises to touch our hearts and our minds!

How thrilling it will be to see Wittenberg where Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church; Erfurt where he went to school and became a monk; the Wartburg Castle where he lived in disguise and translated the New Testament into German; Eisleben where Luther was born – and died; and other important Reformation sites

In addition to the Luther sites of Germany, our travels will also include some of the most beautiful sites of Italy!! We’ll visit Rome, the Eternal City, a bustling shrine to the history of civilization. Explore everything from theVatican to the Colosseum. See Florence, the Cradle of Renaissance Art and home of Michelangelo’s statue of David as well as Venice, floating dreamlike on canals and lagoons. With stops in Berlin, Munich and Leipzig we’ll also have the chance to take in wonderful German culture. These metropolitan cities are wonderful places to visit, shop, and enjoy German cuisine, music and culture.

My hope for this trip is that we will be deeper in our relationship with Christ, each other, creation, and with history.

We would like to get to know everyone better!

As of today, we have a total of 22 coming on this journey with us!

We would like to get to know all of you better and learn some more about the trip. We will have our first meeting together on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at Advent Lutheran Church, 3660 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio. If this date or location does not work for you, please reply to this email and let Pastor Aaron know.

The trip may cost more than expected, but hopefully not too much.

Our tour price was based on a minimum of 32 participants and as of today, there are a total of 22 in our group. The tour company will be raising the price of the trip to meet what they need to get to the 32 participant minimum. If you know of ANYONE else who would like to be on this trip, please have them contact Pastor Aaron Layne as soon as possible.

How much will the price increase be? Good question. Hopefully not too much. I am working with the company to figure all of that out. Again, the more we have going, the closer to the original quoted price it will be. So if you have anyone interested in going, please direct them to our website ( for details.

Our numbers need to be locked in by March 6. Full payment must be submitted by March 10, which is 100 days from our trip's launch.

There are a few websites and apps for your smart phones that are recommended for you as we get ready for our trip.
