Worship is a

foundation of faith for everything we do.

Worship in-person every Sunday morning at 8:30am

and in-person and online at 11:00am

For those joining us for in-person worship, face masks are optional.  However as Ohio Governor DeWine has states, "...it is important that we all still remember that there are a significant number of Ohioans who remain unvaccinated and are at-risk. It’s important that those not fully vaccinated continue to wear masks indoors and follow other preventative measures to keep themselves as healthy as possible."

Our worship services have words and graphics projected, so it is easy to follow and participate. Hard copy bulletins are also available.  Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday via individual Communion kits that will be provided for you when you come in or by continuous Communion line. Gluten Free options as well as wine or grape juice are available.

For those joining us online, we begin live streaming each worship service about 15 minutes before worship begins.  In that time you will see some announcements about ongoing and upcoming ministries here at AdventELC.  All of the music and words for worship will be conveniently placed on your screen.

If you would like to take Holy Communion at home, Pastor Aaron has made that possible. On past Sundays Pastor Aaron consecrated the elements for Holy Communion to be used for distribution, including Home Communion. He will do this again as needed.

Please make arrangements to stop by the church this week to pick up your communion elements. For more information, please read the Communion at Home FAQs found here.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Pastor Aaron.

At Advent Lutheran Church, worship stands at the center of our life of faith. Through God’s word, water, bread and prayer we are nurtured in faith and sent out into the world to do God's work with our hands.

Connected with and central to everything we do, worship unites us in celebration, engages us in thoughtful dialogue and helps us grow in faith. It grounds us in our Christian and Lutheran roots, while demonstrating practical relevance for today’s world.

We gather. We encounter God’s word. We share a meal at the Lord’s table. And we are sent into the world. But we do not think about worship so much in terms of what we do. Worship is fundamentally about what God is doing and our response to God’s action. Worship is an encounter with God, who saves us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Central to our worship life is the presence of God through word and sacrament. The word proclaimed (through Scripture, sermons and songs) and the sacraments —both Holy Baptism and Holy Communion — are called the means of grace. We believe that Jesus Christ is present in these means through the power of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we describe worship as a “gathering around the means of grace.”

We hope to worship with you soon here at Advent!  We worship every Sunday morning at 8:30 & 11 a.m. with Sunday School (education time) for all ages starting at 9:45 a.m.

Special services, like Thanksgiving Eve and Ash Wednesday and midweek Lenten services begin at 7pm. Christmas Eve Worship services are at 4:30pm (family friendly for little ones) and 7pm (traditional candlelight).

NURSERY

Nursery is available at every Sunday morning service.  Our nursery is available for infants through pre-schoolers.

Your children are cared for and loved by a consistent staff.  We have beepers that are given to parents when their child is dropped off and must be presented to pick up the child.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Sometimes we here in Central Ohio have inclement weather which could possibly affect our meeting for worship and ministry.  For our inclement weather page, click here.
